About Shari’a Supervisory Board

​Bank ABC-Algeria’s Shari’a Supervisory Board (SSB) consists of a number of scholars and economists with extensive knowledge of Shari’a, Islamic transactions and economic, legal and banking systems, as well as proper understanding of banking operations. The SSB members are appointed by the General Assembly of the Bank’s shareholders upon the recommendation of the Board of Directors. 

The Shari’a Supervisory Board is responsible for directing, monitoring and overseeing the Bank’s Islamic banking activities to ensure the management’s adherence to the Shari’a rules and principles in all transactions carried out through the Islamic window “alburaq”.

All opinions and decisions adopted by the Board are binding on the Bank’s management in accordance with the frame of reference set by the National Shariah Board of Fatwa for the Islamic Financial Industry.
